Doves in the Window

Doves in the Window is the Bible Block the month for April: here’s my version in the somewhat eccentric colours we’ve pulled from an unusual civil war reproduction print. [Selective cuts of the print are the centres of the four doves].

I’ve put them together to give an idea how this block forms a secondary pattern placed side-by-side. I don’t love it, although I like the four-patch in the centre. I wonder if I’d like it better with cornerstones making a 9-patch where the blocks meet. This could be very striking with sashing the same size as the centre strips of the blocks.

Another teaser….there will be 4 Doves in the Windows blocks in my planned sampler of Genesis blocks that I’m calling In the Beginning…God, but the blocks won’t be placed all together like last month’s Brother’s Keeper blocks.

See you next month: in the meantime, stop by the Patchwork and Song page for more about our upcoming tour.

God Bless!
